Applications Engineer, (spectroscopy)

B&W TEK, Inc. is a new generation company, combining the latest in optical technology with a fresh outlook for innovative product solutions in solid-state lasers and fiber optic spectroscopy (spectrometers) including UV/Vis/NIR, Raman, and fluorescence instrumentation. We are seeking applications engineers to work with our engineering department in supporting spectroscopic application methodology development, custom sample evaluations, custom measurement setup support, and other application related activities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide pre and post sales support
  • Conduct and assist in product and technical demonstrations to assigned customers
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and B&W Teks engineering, sales and marketing departments
  • Assist with writing white papers, as well as product application notes
  • Assist customers in configuration and interface design efforts
  • Close design wins at a targeted customer base
  • Attend industry tradeshows
  • Set up customer visits as necessary
  • 25% travel
Requirements
  • Four year technical degree in analytical chemistry, bio and other engineering, physics or related
  • Understanding of spectroscopy and related measurements
  • Experience with optical spectroscopic measurement instrumentation, entry level will be considered.
  • Team player with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
