OEM Product Development Cycle
OED & OEM of Analytical Instruments and Medical Lasers

Phase 1: EVALUATION

B&W Tek works close with our OEM customers from the very beginning to obtain a detailed view of the product requirement. After studying and evaluating the technical feasibility, B&W TEK then proposes a solution based on the customer’s business objective.

Phase 2: DEVELOPMENT AND PROTOTYPE

Upon the customer’s approval, B&W Tek works to achieve the required performance goals, and to demonstrate and deliver a small number of prototype products in a short period of time (< 3 months).

Phase 3: PILOT PRODUCTION

B&W TEK works with customers to resolve any manufacturing issues, to pursue opportunities for cost reduction, and to scale up for production. Final qualification of the product design will occur. And additional testing protocols will be developed to address the quality and reliability as well during this phase.

Phase 4: FULL PRODUCTION

B&W TEK establishes the final manufacturing process and brings the new product into full volume production. A high standard quality control team ensures every single product meets the performance and stability requirements.

Phase 5: POST PRODUCTION SERVICES

From our facilities in the US and Asia, B&W Tek provides a full range of post-production services to empower and to support our OEM customer. We offer customized configuration to deliver a turn-key solution to the end users. We also provide customized warranty and service policies to eliminate time consuming and repair costs. All of our OEM customers will have the first hand opportunity to access our technology upgrades and product development news.

B&W Tek Raman products on Japanese TV!

On Saturday July 18, 2009 the Japanese TV program, Sekaiichi Uketai Jyugyou, featured B&W Tek’s portable Raman spectroscopy system, the MiniRam™ II. The host demonstrated how valuable a tool the MiniRam™ II can be in forensic studies, especially in cases where in situ material inspection is used to aid in solving crime. MiniRam™ II is a low cost, lightweight battery operated Raman spectroscopy instrument. It employs patented CleanLaze® 785 nm spectrum stabilized laser technology, providing a 10 cm-1 spectral resolution over a 175 - 3150 cm-1 Raman shift range. By using a fiber coupled sampling probe and integrated handtop PC, a user can collect Raman spectra of solids and liquids at the scene of crime where the information is most useful.

B&W Tek and ST Japan Collaboration!

B&W Tek, Inc. and S. T. Japan, Inc. have entered into a distribution agreement on the Raman Libraries of S.T. Japan Inc. Under this agreement, these Raman Libraries will be incorporated into B&W Tek’s Raman Material Identification software: BWID™, which can rapidly identify/verify materials at the time of acquisition or post process. Over 18,000 Raman spectra include polymers, solvents, pharmaceuticals, biochemicals, food additives, forensic materials and many more. The combination of BWID™ and any of B&W Tek's Raman Systems create a powerful and effective solution for identification and verification of materials.
